The Watering Control Unit
A watering control unit will allow the complete automation of an irrigation or garden watering system, making it ideal for watering during holiday times. Garden watering control units are simple to fit, as they screw directly onto the outlet thread of a standard outdoor tap. The standard thread size in the UK (and most of Europe) is ¾" (actually 26.5mm in diameter). Once the watering control unit has been screwed onto the tap, any fitting that was already on the tap can be transferred to the outlet of the watering control unit.
Access Garden Products supply two types of watering control units. The dial watering control unit has a very simple interface, with just two dials. The first dial sets how long the watering control unit operates for, and the second dial sets how often the timer operates. The watering control unit can operate every other day, once a day, twice a day or 4 times a day.
A more sophisticated watering control unit is also available, with an LCD screen. This allows more control over watering durations and start times than the dial watering control unit.
Both controllers are manufactured by an industrial valve company, giving superior performance compared to many budget timers. A single 9v battery will operate the watering control unit, which will last an entire season.
For larger gardens, Access also supply a range of 2, 3 or 4 outlet timers, allowing multiple zones to be watered from a single tap. Click here
